Functional Airway Evaluation Screening Tools (FAirEST)
The Functional Airway Evaluation Screening Tools (FAirEST) were developed to offer simple, cost-effective, and non-invasive ways to help identify individuals who may be at risk for sleep and breathing challenges. These tools continue to evolve, with each new version refined through ongoing learning and collaboration.

Fairest 15 (2018)
Fairest 15
Designed with a focus for dentists and ENTs, it includes 15 assessments with 6 questions and focuses on dental, ENT and other clinical traits. Initial research involved 96 subjects ages 6-12 at UCLA.

Fairest 21 (2018) Multi-Disciplinary Tool
The first multidisciplinary tool with a whopping 21 categories, including 11 new assessments and 8 questions.
Research involved 665 subjects ages 3+ done by 13 clinicians in 5 disciplines and 5 countries resulting in an overwhelming amount of data.
This research originated the use of a graded airway questionnaire, an introduced novel pieces of the airway puzzle and assessments such as tongue or lingual suction, posture and Hypermobility as well as the Friedman test. It was the birthplace for other FAirEST tools and research.

Fairest 12: MFT_12 Parts 1 and 2
MFT_12 parts 1 and 2 are being used by The Breathe Institute in research projects relating to myofunctional therapy and lingual frenuloplasty presented at the Breathe Outlook for the 2021-22 academic years.
Part 1 is for patients to complete,
Part 2 is for the myofunctional therapist to complete.
